As founder and CEO of French in the City, Sandrine has taught her native tongue to numerous high profile professionals in the Boston area. Born and raised in France, Sandrine owns a Masters in American Literature. She taught English in France for four years before moving to the U.S. to stay.
Prior to establishing French in the City, Sandrine worked at the French Library and Cultural Center of Boston as Pedagogical Director and Head Teacher. There she taught hundreds of American adults, some of them now live and work in France.
Sandrine has been praised for being the picture of friendliness, good cheer and for having a wonderful disposition and a good sense of humor. These qualities have brought French in the City to the success it knows today. When selecting her staff, Sandrine makes sure that the personality of the teachers matches their level of expertise.
Xavier Legaud, Assistant
Université de Nantes, M.A.
Xavier grew up in Nantes, on the west coast of France. He attended NantesManagement University, where he graduated with a Masters degree in Management & Marketing. After spending a year in Paris, he decided it was time to go abroad and through a partnership at his university he was able to attend BentleyCollege in Waltham, MA for a semester. Xavier joined French in the City in January 2007 as Sandrine’s personal assistant and French teacher. Xavier enjoys spending his time playing sports, traveling, and discovering more about US culture.
Claudine Donikian, Corporate Teacher New York University, M.A.
Claudine comes from a francophone family, lived in France for several years, and speaks French with a native accent. She teaches both corporate French classes and private classes for French in the City. She has also taught as an adjunct professor at Boston-area colleges and is currently a popular instructor at local adult education centers. Her students love her dynamic and fun classes and her engaging style. She has a talent for connecting with students and addressing their unique needs. Claudine holds a M.A. in French from one of the top graduate programs, New York University, which she completed at NYU's Center in Paris. She has studied at Université de Paris at Nanterre and at the Nouvelle Sorbonne, as well as at the Université de Strasbourg. Claudine graduated Phi Beta Kappa from IndianaUniversity and holds both a J.D. and an M.B.A. from BostonCollege.
